| Global Innovation Imperatives Town Hall Session on Water. The ACS Committee on Corporation Associates (CCA) and the Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) will host a Town Hall session on the Global Innovations Imperatives – Water (Gii Water). Speakers will include Thomas Lane, ACS President-elect, Andrew Ladds, Chief Executive of SCI, and Edward Means, Vice President at Malcolm Pirnie. The Town Hall session will provide ACS Meeting attendees the opportunity to participate in the dialogue on the global challenges of this imperative. There are significant global issues facing every one of us. Through scientific innovation, new chemistry-based solutions are being constantly developed to address these issues. But still more needs to be done to speed up innovation, to share chemical technologies, to determine strategies for effective delivery on a global scale - above all, to catalyze action. The Gii mission is to create community and transfer knowledge to stimulate global scientific innovation that meets societal imperatives. The first imperative chosen for the Gii program is water. The Town Hall session will be followed by technical programming on water sponsored by the ACS Division of Environmental Chemistry.
