| Over the past twenty years, microwave chemistry has become a powerful tool for performing a variety of chemical transformations. The benefits of microwave irradiation have been extensively documented and include faster reaction times, cleaner products, and higher reaction yields. We at CEM are committed to advancing new techniques and methodologies in the area of microwave synthesis. Some of the areas of microwave chemistry we have been investigating are microwave-assisted multi-component and tandem reaction sequences, reactions in the presence of gaseous reagents, reactions at atmospheric pressure, and fundamental investigations probing the unique characteristics of microwave energy. Our recent results in these areas will be discussed. |
