2,3-diaminodihydropyrazolopyrazolones and 2,3-diamino-tetrahydro-pyrazolopyridazinones have been designed and found to be new heterocyclic hair dye precursors to give permanent hair color in various shades and a perfect coverage of white hair. We will present and discuss the design, synthetic pathways and characteristics of these new compounds. Color properties on hair will be discussed.
