α- and β-Deuteroethylbenzene and non-deuterated ethylbenzene in the presence of D2O have been dehydrogenated over a commercial K2O/Fe2O3 catalyst system. Deuterium incorporation in the products has been determined. An operating mechanism of the heterogeneous dehydrogenation has been proposed.
