Metallonitrene/alkyne metathesis cascade reactions for organic synthesis

As part of our ongoing investigation into the reactivity of metallonitrene species, we have developed a conceptually new metallonitrene/alkyne metathesis reaction. This process couples the construction of a new C=N bond with the generation of a reactive metallocarbene intermediate for further cascade reaction. Our initial study into the scope and mechanism of this reaction will be presented.
