Synthetic approaches towards nagelamide-D and their congeners will be described. These natural products belong to pyrrole-imidazole family of marine alkaloids, the so called oroidin derived alkaloids. Many of these alkaloids have shown interesting biological activities. Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions were utilized for constructing highly functionalized intermediates and further functionalization of these intermediates should allow us to complete total synthesis of nagelamide A-E, archerine, ageliferin, sceptrin.
