Discovery of the phenomena of enantiomer self-disproportionation (on achiral silica gel) and optical self-purification (via preferential sublimation of racemic or optically pure crystals) will be presented. In particular, practical applications of the phenomena for optical purification of fluorine-containing, non-racemic compounds will be discussed.
