Asymmetric C-C and C-O bond-forming tandem reactions

We have developed several highly enantio- and diastereoselective one-pot methods for the efficient synthesis of synthetically useful epoxy alcohols, allylic epoxy alcohols, and cyclopropyl alcohols with up to four contiguous stereocenters. New tandem reactions for the synthesis of novel alpha-hydroxy ketones will also be presented. The mechanistic underpinnings of these processes will be discussed.
