| Several representative enantioselective alkaloid total syntheses will be discussed. Of particular interest to these programs is the development of unifying strategies for each alkaloid family of interest guided by biosynthetic hypotheses that enable maximum use of the inherent chemistry of intricate potentially biomimetic intermediates. These strategic considerations along with related mechanistic studies direct the development of concise total syntheses. |
