Isomeric diazadienes via the Lewis acid-mediated isomerization of methylenecyclopropyl hydrazones

We recently reported a highly unusual, ligand-tunable method for the selective preparation of several isomeric diazadienes from readily available methylenecyclopropyl hydrazones. In general, reaction yields and selectivities for both processes were good to excellent. This presentation will highlight our recent developments in reaction scope as well as new mechanistic studies for this synthetic transformation.
