DNA methyltransferase (DNMT-1) inhibitory natural products, Peyssonenyne A & B, were harvested from a Fujian red marine alga Peyssonnelia caulifera. The use of Peyssonenynes A & B in regulating DNMT-1 can potentially be an effective tool towards reversing tumor growth. Both compounds have a novel enol acetate-containing enediyne motif. Progress towards the stereoselective synthesis of Peyssonenynes A & B will be presented.
