Angusticraline 1 is a dimeric indole alkaloid composed of a methoxy macroline indole unit coupled to cabucraline, which is an akuammiline related indole alkaloid. Progress towards the total synthesis of the northern hemisphere of 1, as well as other alkaloids which belong to the sarpagine series will be presented.
