| Different kinds of bioactive spiro-compounds have been broadly incorporated in drug discovry, and many synthetic methods have been reported practically in process development. In general, it is sometimes difficult to prepare some bioactive spiro-compounds with functional groups by traditional organic reactions. There has been a useful method developed to synthesize different kinds of spiro-compounds via ring closing metathesis (RCM) reactions since Grubbs catalysts were commercially available in 1990's. Currently, based on our developed metathesis catalysts with high activity, more medicinal active spiro-compounds could be prepared efficiently via RCM with one of our novel “Zhan (Metathesis) Catalyst” (Strem Cat. No: 44-0082), and some new valuable experimental results for synthesis and process development of heterocyclic spiro-compounds from different olefin substrates are reported and discussed in this poster. |
