Synthesis of cyclopalladated complexes on silica gel

Although a variety of organic reactions can be performed on silica gel in place of solvents, there have been only a few isolated reports on the use of silica gel in carbon-metal bond forming reactions. We would like to report a general method for cyclopalladation of different pre-ligands on silica gel. A comparison of reaction conditions, yield, regio- and stereoselectivity of the cyclopalladation reactions performed in solvent and on silica gel will be presented.
