Recently there has been increasing interest in the utility of allylindium organometallic reagents for mild and selective allylation reactions. We have been developing new stereoselective reactions mediated by indium with catalytic amounts of chiral BINOL additives. We have developed the first example of a highly catalytic and enantioselective version of this reaction utilizing electron deficient BINOLs with enantioselectivity reaching 99% ee. Details of our investigation and mechanistic insight into these processes will be presented
