Organocatalysis is of increasing importance in the development of efficient enantioselective reactions. Our goal is to use an easily accessible acylphosphonates as nucleophiles and electrophiles to develop new asymmetric reactions in the presence of organocatalysts. The reaction of these compounds with various electrophiles and nucleophiles furnishes multifunctional compounds with good to high chemical and optical yields via C-C, C-N, and C-O bond forming reactions. These products have several functional groups for further modifications.
