Development of a chemosensor for creatinine

The concentration of the metabolite creatinine in blood is indicative of the level of renal function.  A chromogenic chemosensor (1) for creatinine, based on a hexagonal lattice approach, has been previously reported. Attempts to improve on the binding selectivity and analyte affinity of 1 will be presented.
