Efficient synthesis of the C1-C20 domain of azaspiracid and AZA 3- 5 analogs

Among 11 azaspiracids known to date, five of them, including AZA1-5, have been isolated and characterized by NMR. In this report we disclose our efficient synthesis of the C1-C20 domain of azaspiracids, which allows access to AZA1 and AZA3-5. The convergent retrosynthetic plan for this domain is shown in scheme 1.
