Synthesis of water-soluble C60 co-polymers

A C60-based water-soluble co-polymer with poly(vinylpyrrolidone) moiety was synthesized. Synthesis of this co-polymer was performed by radical polymerization using AIBN as an initiator. Co-polymers with various ratio of C60 and N-vinylpyrrolidone were prepared and their physicochemical properties were examined. The applications of these polymers as photodynamic therapeutic reagents will be described.
