Convenient synthesis of aza-polycyclic aromatic compounds by superacid-induced cyclizations

Appropriately designed olefinic systems give dicationic intermediates that ultimately yield aza-polycyclic aromatic compounds from cyclization and aromatization steps. A variety of novel ring systems can be prepared. The results of these studies will be presented.
