| The use of polystyryl-triphenylphosphine in a range of chemical transformations is well documented. Reactions such as the Wittig, Mitsunobu and Suzuki all benefit from the user being able to filter away any P (V) oxide at the end of the reaction. For more exotic phosphine mediated chemistries however, the choice of solvent can be crucial to reaction success, and in certain systems low crosslinked microporous polymers may not swell sufficiently to allow effective reaction kinetics. Herein we will describe the development of a co-polymerized macroporous triphenylphosphine material, which is a highly porous, non-swelling material. A range of applications comparing the relative merits of the micro and macroporous phosphines will be demonstrated. |
