2′-O-methylmyxalamide D and its geometric isomers were isolated from the myxobacterium C. fuscus. These polyene amides exhibit novel antifungal activities. The total syntheses were achieved in a convergent manner employing a hetero-bis-metallated 1,3,5-hexatriene linchpin to couple two vinyl halide left- and right-hand fragments.
