Silylene-mediated synthesis of cyclic silyl imines and enamines from nitriles and alkynes: Subsequent functionalization of azasilacyclopentadienes

Regioselective insertions of nitriles into the more highly substituted C-Si bond of di-tert-butylsilirenes provide azasilacyclopentadienyl imines and enamines. Further functionalization of these compounds and application to the stereoselective synthesis of amines will be discussed.
