Abstract: A practical, asymmetric synthetic method towards (2R, 6R)-dimethylmorpholine (1) and (2R, 5R) dimethylmorpholine (2) has been developed via amide formation from readily available chiral chloropropionic acid, 1-amino-2-propanol, and 2-amino-1-propanol, followed by cyclization.
