Microwave accelerated synthesis of substituted building blocks have found numerous applications in drug discovery. This presentation will describe recent findings on the expedited preparation of fluoroarenes using readily available nucleophilic fluorides. A range of aryl and heteroaryl substrates have been studied and the application of this technology for the preparation of labeled analogs for PET imaging will be outlined.
