| Our laboratory utilizes nature in the form of natural products, as an inspiration for the development of new reactions and new synthetic strategies. Tetrahydrofuran ring systems are a common structural motif found in thousands of different natural products. Given how prevalent this motif is a number of synthetic methods have been developed for their construction. Our work in this are has focused on the rearrangement of vinyl oxiranes using metal catalysts. Our recent success in this area will be presented. |
