Experimental and computational investigation of new macrocycles with orthogonal aromatic rings

Synthetic approaches to novel macrocycles, as exemplified by 1, using the Suzuki-Miyaura, and related cross-coupling reactions will be described. The efficiency of various catalysts in facilitating these reactions, as well as a computational study of the macrocycles will be presented.
