Novel nucleophilic substitutions of 1-alkoxy- and 1-tosyloxy-η-3-allylmolybdenum complexes: Mechanism, scope, and limitations

The reaction profiles of 1-alkoxy and 1-tosyloxy η3-allylmetal complexes have not been extensively studied. We have investigated the potential of such complexes to undergo unique exchange reactions, which appear to proceed through vinylcarbene intermediates (see scheme). Details of this study will be presented.
