Snapshots of our work in the area electrophilic hydrocarbon chemistry will be covered with highlights of our recent studies on direct oxidation methanol fuel cells. The presentation will include studies on reactive intermediates such as carbocations, carbodications and onium ions as well as hydrocarbon functionalization methods.
