| A three-step, one-pot microwave assisted synthesis of 3-Thio-1,2,4-triazoles, starting from derivatives of isothiocyanate and acylhydrazide, is described. The formed hydrazinecarbothioamides in the first step were cyclized in the second step to 3-Mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles by addition of sodium hydroxide. In the third step, alkylation affording the 3-Thio-1,2,4-triazoles was performed by addition of alkyl bromides. The synthesis sequence was carried out in the same solvent, and with a total reaction time of 20 minutes. |
