My group has sought, in part, to understand the fundamental organometallic chemistry of emerging catalytic synthetic methods and to discover new elementary organometallic reactions from which catalytic chemistry can be developed. Selected results from our studies on the mechanisms of catalytic cross coupling with both heteroatom and carbon nucleophiles, catalytic hydroamination of olefins, catalytic enantioselective allylation of amines and alcohols, and catalytic, regiospecific functionalizations of alkanes will be presented.
