| The bark and leaves from the East African plant Dombeya Burgessiae have a wide range of application in ethnopharmacology ranging from treatment of stomach pains, malaria, aphrodisiacs and anthelmintics. The root bark and leaves of the plant were extracted with dichloromethane, ethyl acetate and hexanes. The extracts isolated previously uncharacterized sterols and triterpenes, which will be tested for biological activity. The compounds were characterized via NMR and mass spectroscopy.
