| Hydrophobic ionic liquids based on [PF6]-, [Tf2N]- were investigated in a number of studies as reaction media for biocatalysis. However, there are only a few studies involving the use of water-containing hydrophilic ionic liquids for enzymatic reactions. Our research indicated that the ion hydration is very important to the enzyme activity and stability. Those kosmotropic anions such as [CH3COO]- and [CF3COO]- can enhance the enzyme stability in aqueous solutions. The chaotropic anion [BF4]- destabilizes the enzyme. |
