A variety of (NHC)-AuCl (NHC = N-Heterocyclic Carbene) has been synthesized and fully characterized. These complexes, in association with silver salt, have been found to be efficient catalysts in enyne cycloisomerization. Several 1,n-enynes (n = 5, 6, 7) bearing a protected hydroxy group at the propargylic position have been examined leading to different type of cycloisomerized product.
