The intramolecular hydrosilylation of alkenes and alkynes has been extensively studied. However, this reaction had not been applied to allenes until we started the investigation. The intramolecular hydrosilylation of allenes provides a direct access to a variety of trisubstituted vinylsilanes that are very useful synthetic intermediates. Mechanism and regioselectivity of this new reaction will be discussed and transformations of the resulting siloxacycloalkenes will be presented.
