Solid-phase synthesis of triazinobenzimidazole libraries

Starting from resin-bound benzimidazoles, we will present efficient approaches for the parallel solid-phase synthesis of trisubstituted triazinobenzimidazolediones (1) and 2-imino-4-oxo-1,3,5-triazino[1,2-a]benzimidazoles (2). Compounds (2) were obtained via tandem Aza-Wittig/heterocumulene-mediated annulation reaction. Using halogenoalkyl isocyanates, the Aza-Wittig/heterocyclization reaction was extended for the synthesis of unique tetracyclic benzylimidazoles systems (3).
