We report the synthesis and catalytic testing of a new group of asymmetric phase transfer catalysts. The key features of these new catalysts are their combination of chiral components, and their dicationic structure. In general, these catalysts contain a chiral backbone that bridges two chiral nitrogen heterocycles to form a highly asymmetric binding region.
