Chiral lithium amides have proven to form mixed trimeric complex with butyl lithium. The catalysis system is effective for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds. Catalytic asymmetric additions of alkyl lithium to aldehyde are described. Sec-alcohols are obtained in good to moderate enatioselectivity. Scope and mechanism of these transformations will be discussed. Catalytic addition of alkynyl lithium on aldehyde with chiral lithium amides is under investigation.
