| One of the most common issues faced by synthetic organic chemists today is the purification bottleneck during the drug discovery process. The increasing scope of reliable organic chemistries coupled with the advances made in high throughput and automation technologies have exacerbated this problem. By adopting synthetic methodologies where purification is integral to the synthetic process, the requirement for post-synthesis preparative HPLC can be reduced. This talk will describe the use of novel high capacity polymeric SPE devices and their utility over a wide range of purification applications which include catch and release purifications and free base generation. The complimentary use of solid-supported scavengers for the removal of a range of reagents and impurities will also be described. The adoption of such strategies can greatly simplify the purification process. |
