Rhodium and palladium complexes are excellent catalysts for the highly regio-, stereo-, and enantioselective reactions. This presentation will include some industrially interesting reactions including the hydroformylation of unsaturates, the synthesis of amino acid derivatives by a sequence of double carbonylation/imine formation/hydrogenation reactions, and the cyclocarbonylation of halophenols, thiols, and anilines. Dynamic kinetic resolution in the reaction of heterocycles with heterocumulenes proceeds in high enantiomeric excess to give 5-7 membered ring bi-and polycyclic products
