Hydrogenation of vinyl boronates has received little attention in the chemical literature; however considering the synthetic utility of the resulting alkyl carbon-boron bond a convenient asymmetric preparation would be highly desirable. This poster reveals conditions for the catalytic, asymmetric hydrogenation of 1,1-disubstituted vinyl boronic pinacol esters and the functionalization of the resulting secondary carbon-boron bond.
