Eunicellin diterpenes constitute the major area of compounds within the broader class of cembrane natural products. These compounds have been shown to have activities as insect growth inhibitors, repellants against muricid gastropods and anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor agents. Our strategy utilizes a highly functionalized bicyclo[3.2.1]octadiene to form the core structure of these natural products.
