An efficient chemoenzymatic resolution of nitroso-Diels-Alder-derived amino cyclopentenol will be discussed. Further application of enantiopure amino cyclopentenol in the synthesis of phosphodiesterase inhibitors via Pd(0)-catalyzed intramolecular cyclization under basic conditions will be explored. The biological test results of the products will also be reported.
