Intramolecular hydrosilylation of alkenes and alkynes has been extensively studied. However, to the best of our knowledge, no report has been published on the reaction of allenes. Thus, we investigated the reactions of dimethylsiloxyalkyl allenes 1 catalyzed by Rh(acac)(CO)2 under CO atmosphere. The reaction gave the corresponding exo-dig cyclization product 2 as predominant product accompanied by a small amount of exo-trig cyclization product 3. Deuterium labeling study provided a proof for the proposed mechanism. The scope and limitation of this new process will be discussed.
