Formamidines are widely appreciated as components of biologically active structures, primarily because of their hydrogen bonding properties. We will describe the use of these same properties to create extended intramolecular networks in organic and alcoholic solvents. In addition, improved synthetic routes to formamidines and derivatives will be presented.
