Allylbenzene derivatives, allyl phenylsulfide, allylimidazole, 1,4-dihydronaphthalene, and several methylene-interrupted dienes can be easily isomerized by the phosphazene strong base P2-Et in acetonitrile at 40 °C. This is the first study in which a non-ionic strong base has been used in this isomerization. The proposed methodology offers significant advantages over existing methods, especially in terms of mild reaction condition, experimental simplicity and high yields.
