Synthesis of the carbocyclic core of tricycloclavulone from a simple 4+3 cycloadduct

The conversion of the 4+3 cycloadduct 1 to 2 will be presented. Compound 2 contains the carbocyclic ring structure of the natural product tricycloclavulone (3).
