| When Greg Fu was a postdoctoral fellow in my laboratory, he carried out the experiments that helped to introduce ring closing metathesis and other areas of olefin metathesis to the organic community. Recent developments in catalyst design have opened a variety of new transformations and applications. Applications of metathesis for the synthesis of polymers and small molecules will be demonstrated. |
