| The selective protection and deprotection of functional groups is paramount in organic synthesis. Many protecting groups have been developed for orthogonal protection and deprotection of amines. The N-allyloxycarbonyl group (Alloc) is orthogonal to Boc, Fmoc and Cbz protecting groups, and has found particular applications in peptide, nucleoside and aminosugar synthesis. We report herein a novel reagent combination for facile deprotection of N-Alloc group using a polymer-supported palladium catalyst in conjunction with a polymer-bound borohydride reagent. Notable advantages of the present method include mild reaction conditions, simple isolation of products by a filtration, absence of any N-allylated amine byproducts, and low palladium levels in the products. |
