| Over the last few years there have been several publications using polymer supported reducing agents, predominantly of borohydride or tin hydride species. Herein, we consider the application of various macroporous borohydride-based reducing agents in a variety of reactions, including reductive aminations. Whilst behaving in a similar manner to their solution phase equivalents, reaction work-up and purification is facilitated by simple filtration and washing. We also report on the optimization of conditions for performing transformations such as producing alcohols from aldehydes or ketones. |
